This is the chronicle of the tragic life and anguish of a young lord in the Warring Clans’ era. Young lord Saburo Nobuyasu struggles to find comfort in life. His arranged marriage to Tokuhime, daughter of one-time family enemy Oda Nobunaga, provides little happiness. His manipulative mother adds further complications through her constant interference and attempts at defeating the Oda family. A true classic in the historical sense, this is a superb film with deep insight into the culture of old Japan. At that time it was common for erstwhile enemies to form alliances through marriage.
