Saotome Mondonosuke, a sword master and guard of the Shogunate, must foil a
Minister\'s sister\'s plan to assassinate the Shogun. Yet before he can act, the Minister
pre-emptively kidnaps Saotome\'s lover and her brother. Starring screen legend Utaemon
Ichikawa in the role he made famous this is one of the longest running series in Japanese
film history. And it features an early appearance by Utaemon\'s son Kinya Kitaoji, who has
gone on to major stardom himself. The Crescent Scarred Hatamoto (or Bored Samurai) is
the story of a samurai who lives only for the excitement of swordplay!
