During World War II as Japanese armies push to conquer Northeast China and Korea, young Li An, a Chinese revolutionary, is arrested by the Japanese. He manages to escape and heads for Korea to join his uncle. In a wrestling tournament to celebrate the Korean New Year, Li beats a Japanese who had defeated his Korean counterpart, Chin Ta-cheng by trickery. As champion of the tournament, Li is awarded a cow. This incident upsets Kurata, head of the Japanese secret agents in the area.
